The partnership

Ruth Tolliver had fitted clubs for a regional builder for eleven years and wanted to work with fewer customers for longer. Dale Brandt had spent his career in quality engineering and had just taken up golf. They met in a range clinic in Hopewell and kept arguing for a year.

The practice took a second-floor room on Witherspoon Street, in a building with a creaking staircase and a view of the library. It has not moved since.

The partners see six or seven people a day at most. Anika Joshi joined in 2018 to run the data sheets and the build bench, and the diary has stayed short since.
